Photographing the Night Sky – Sierra Club

November 14, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm

Join us at our next meeting for a star-studded presentation.  Stars of the celestial variety, that is.  After being inspired by images of the Milky Way, naturalist and photographer Erin Wilson set out on a quest to capture the beauty of the night skies.  Erin will share some tips and tricks she learned along the way.

The night skies have so much to offer.  With ready access to information about upcoming astronomical phenomena and spectacular image floating around on social media, it is easy to be inspired to gaze to the heavens. Light pollution in cities reduces visibility of stars in the sky and many people are not able to view the vast number of stars or the Milky Way with the naked eye.  But darker skies are available within an hour or two from our area, opening our eyes to the spectacular universe of stars.  This evening’s presentation will inspire you to venture beyond the comfy indoors, view the stars, and perhaps try your hand at photographing the night skies.

This program is open to all and no reservations are necessary.
