Since 1998, the Walnut Creek Library Foundation has raised more than $5,000,000 in private funds for new and improved library facilities, collections, programs and services for both the Walnut Creek Downtown Library and the Ygnacio Valley (Thurman G. Casey) Library.

Foundation Welcomes New Board Members
Tom Kallingal joins the board from Mechanics Bank where he is Vice President/Area Manager of the Diablo Region retail division. He is a graduate of Saint Mary's College, and is currently working on his MBA program.
Richard M. Ravitz has lived in Walnut Creek for the past dozen years. Before moving to California, he lived and worked in Greater Philadelphia and has a background in journalism. Mr. Ravitz believes a modern library equipped with up-to-date technology can be a vital community institution invigorating the education and cultural enrichment of its patrons.

In 1968, the Friends of Ygnacio Valley Library was formed to establish a new library facility in the eastern end of the Ygnacio Valley.
