An Evening with Gail Tsukiyama – New Venue!

This year’s fall festivities begin with a special presentation and discussion with Gail Tsukiyama on September 4 at 7:30 PM.
Due to overwhelming response the program will now be held at the Lesher Center for the Arts in the Hoffman Theater.

Tickets are $8 and will be available online beginning at noon on Sept. 4, or call the Lesher Center Box Office at 943-SHOW.

Sumo East and West – Feature Documentary Film

Theatre of Yugen – Classic Noh Drama and Kyogen Comedy
Wed., Sept. 22     7:15 p.m.     Lesher Center for the Arts
Tickets: $10 (available through the Lesher Center Box office or call 943-7469)
Theatre of Yugen has prepared an excerpt of Hagoromo (The Feathered Robe) in Hakama Noh form.  Hagoromo is the first NOH play that Kenji witnesses in Gail Tsukiyama’s The Street of a Thousand Blossoms. The evening will include demonstrations of masks and kyogen costumes as well as the Kyogen classic Busu (Sweet Poison) in an English Translation. Read more
