Used Books

Both Friends of the Library groups contribute substantial sums annually to augment the book budgets for the Walnut Creek Downtown and Ygnacio Valley libraries. The majority of these funds are raised through the sale of used books that are donated to the Friends groups. These Used Book Sales at the two libraries are community services that provide a source of funds for the libraries and facilitate efficient “recycling” of books within the community.

All donated books are first made available for inclusion in the library collections. If not used in this way, the books are made available for sale by Friends groups.

The Friends groups have a set of simple guidelines for used book donations.
