Girls Who Code: Summer Camp

June 28, 2021 @ 10:00 am - July 2, 2021 @ 11:00 am

Free

This is an online week-long (Monday through Friday) summer camp for girls to explore coding in a fun & friendly online environment. All are welcome. No prior programming experience needed. For kids headed into Grades 3-5.

Come join us to explore computer science and problem solving! We will create a public service announcement using the programming website Scratch to teach others about an important environmental issue. By the end of camp, you will be able to describe an issue that is having a negative impact on the environment, create a public service announcement to inform others about the issue and possible solutions, and create a Scratch program that includes backdrops, text, events, and sound.

Participants should be comfortable with computers and keyboarding (ability to type) and have a desktop or laptop computer and reliable internet access. Space is limited to 10 participants. We will be meeting through the video conferencing platform Zoom. Zoom information will be emailed to registered participants.
