Master Gardeners – Worm Composting

September 15, 2018 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Don’t have room or time for a traditional composting system or only require small amounts of compost? Then come learn about worm composting. Worm composting or “vermicomposting” is the practice of using worms to turn your kitchen scraps into a rich soil amendment for your plants. Vermicomposting is remarkably easy and can be done within a very small amount of space. Join UC Master Gardeners Alice Burns and Patrizia Guccione and learn how to build a worm bin, where to find worms, what to feed them, and how to maintain a healthy worm compost.  Participants will receive all the information necessary to establish a worm compost and take home a mini worm compost cup as a starter.
