Outdoor Explorer Presents: History of the East Bay Hills

Local historian and author Amelia Marshall will give an overview of the rich and complex history of our East Bay Hills. She will delve into Contra Costa County specific topics including the history of the Karkin Ohlone, Bay Miwok, and Chupcan peoples, look closely at the Fontes/Crespi expedition that came through what is now the I-680 corridor, plus talk about the redwood logging industry that carried lumber from the Oakland hills to Martinez and Benicia during the 1850s.
