Session 1: The Landscape
Monday, September 9, 6-7:15 p.m.
Participants gain a clear understanding of complex scholarship networks and application processes; they learn to navigate merit and community-based options with a realistic timeline for applying for scholarships.
Session 2: Finding Scholarships that Fit
Monday, September 16, 6-7:15 p.m.
Participants learn a 3-step process for searching for scholarships online, and gain a better sense of how public institutions, private donors, and large organizations advertise scholarship opportunities. Participants will develop customized search terms for maximized results.
Session 3: Developing Unique Essays
Monday, September 23, 6-7:15 p.m.
Participants learn basic strategies for developing a series of interchangeable `modules` that address common aspects of scholarship essay prompts; they walk away with a clear sense of the most relevant content, details, and facts to incorporate into strong application materials.
All sessions held at the Walnut Creek Library. High school juniors, seniors, and interested parents are encouraged to attend together, and to bring writing supplies and/or personal computers.
