Join the Ygnacio Valley Library Book Cub for an indepth discussion of the Read Contra Costa selection for 2021. This year’s Read Contra Costa, features the Young Adult novel, We Are Not Free by Traci Chee.
We Are Not Free tells the story of a tight-knit group of young Nisei, second-generation Japanese American citizens living in San Francisco’s Japantown, whose lives are irrevocably changed by the federal government’s internment of people of Japanese ancestry during World War II.
