Our 2025 – 2026 Live! From the Library season has begun!
Here’s what’s next:
The Walnut Creek Library Foundation is excited to have Bay Area author, documentary filmmaker and self-described “hustler of culture” Kevin Smokler to discuss his critically acclaimed 2025 book Break the Frame as part of WCLF's “Live! From the Library” series.
Break the Frame recounts career retrospective conversations Kevin has had with 24 groundbreaking women film directors. The book explores the challenges they have faced in a male-dominated industry, and the successes they have had in a wide range of genres and styles.
