Our 2025 – 2026 Live! From the Library season has begun!
Here’s what’s next:
Author Kevin Fagan – January 20, 2026 – NEW DATE! Award-winning journalist Kevin Fagan – episodically homelessness in his youth – spent decades covering homelessness for the San Francisco Chronicle. His book The Lost and the Found, hailed by the New York Times as “riveting, deeply compassionate,” dives deeply into the real lives of people living on the streets, shining a spotlight on the moral side of this American crisis and giving voice to its victims. In conversation with former Contra Costa Times editor Lisa Wrenn, Kevin celebrates the paperback release of his critically acclaimed book and provides a close up view of what it’s really like to be unhoused.
Free Screening - February 5, 2026 - Join the Walnut Creek Library Foundation for a free community screening of The Librarians—a powerful documentary exploring the vital role libraries and librarians play in protecting access to information and ideas. Following the film, stay for a special Q&A with a librarian featured in the movie, who is on the front lines of defending First Amendment rights and intellectual freedom. This event is a timely opportunity to learn, engage, and celebrate the importance of libraries in a democratic society.
