Legos at the Library

Kids! Come build with Legos. We provide the Legos. You provide the imagination. Sorry, nothing goes home but your happy memories. But we will take pictures of your projects and post them in the children’s area in the library. Held in the Storybook Room. For ages 4 and up only.

ARF’S All Ears Reading

For children in grades 1-5. Reading with animals is a great way for children who are struggling with reading to improve their skills. Children read aloud for 20 minutes to a dog from ARF’s Pet Hug Pack in a relaxed, non-judgmental environment. Sessions begin at 3:30 & 4:00. Register online beginning two weeks in advance. Parents and other family members are asked to wait elsewhere in the library while the reader gets one on one time with their Pet Hug Pack dog. 3:30 Session Register>    4:00 pm Session Register>

Free Art Class-Picasso’s Little Painters-Animals
Tues., Apr 25 • 3:30 pm @ Walnut Creek Library
Join members of the Teen Advisory Group and Las Lomas High School Art Club for an art class for children ages 5 to 12. Find your favorite animal figurine then paint it! This program is strictly limited to 20 participants, and only those pre-registered will be able to participate. Meet in the Storybook Room Patio and wear clothes suitable for painting! REGISTER>

ARF’S All Ears Reading

Crafternoons

Drop by the Storybook Room on the second Wednesday of the month this spring for Crafternoons! We will supply a fun and not too difficult craft for elementary school aged kids to make at their leisure. No registration required – drop in between 4:00 and 5:00 and get creative! Sponsored by the Walnut Creek Library Foundation and Friends of the Walnut Creek Library.

Big dreams, magical wishes, tall tales, daunting challenges, amazing transformations & hilarious outcomes: anything can happen in the world of story. Traditional-style storytelling has the power to create unique images in the mind of each listening, entertaining & inspiring in a most special way.
