Teen Volunteers Needed

The Walnut Creek Library is looking for teens to help with the Summer Reading Program from June 1 – July 30.

  • Duties: Explain Summer Reading Program to participants; help library staff with record keeping, preparing crafts and handing out prizes to participants.
  • Qualifications and Skills: Ability to give enthusiastic customer service, take directions and follow them accurately, dependable, entering 8th grade – 12th grade.
  • Time Commitment: Two to four-hour shifts per week (maximum of 4 hours per week).

Teen Gaming @ Walnut Creek Library Tuesdays from 4:00 – 5:00 pm | Meet by the Teen Screen Come take a break on Tuesdays to play some Nintendo Switch. We play some of the best games available from Mario Kart to Super Smash Bros! For ages 10-17.

Robotics Club @ Walnut Creek Library 2nd & 4th Wednesdays @ 4:00 – 5:00 pm | Oak View Room Come explore the possibilities of robotics by building and programming your own machines. We’ll provide the robotics you provide the ideas. Ages 10-17, registration required. A USB storage device is recommended to save work for future use.

The YVL Afterschool Special @ Ygnacio Valley Library Wednesdays @ 2:00 – 4:00 pm Our Wednesday after school program geared for our early-release middle school students will sometimes feature a movie to watch, games to play, crafting events, or a place to hang out with one another.

 

Teen Advisory Group (TAG) plans teen events, helps out with children’s programs, and gives advice to the library on how best to engage teens.
