Adult Programs

The Walnut Creek Library Foundation supports adult programming at the Walnut Creek and Ygnacio Valley Libraries, including our signature Live! from the Library speaker series, One City One Book programs and Makerspace classes.

Live_LogoLive! from the Library, presented by the Walnut Creek Library Foundation, features free public lectures, literary events, and cultural programs at the Walnut Creek and Ygnacio Valley libraries. Programming is made possible by donations to the Foundation’s Annual Fund.

One-City_adult_programs__One City One Book is a “citywide book club” that encourages the community to read the selection and participate in a series of events that celebrate the book. The annual choice is announced in the summer and community events are planned for the fall giving the community time to read and enjoy the book.

Check back in late July for 2019 One City One Book selection and programs!

3D-machine-RED_adult_programs__3D Makerspace offers the community access to 3D printing technology by providing free classes at the Walnut Creek Library. Adults and teens ages 14 and older are invited to learn the basics of 3D printing and design their own projects for printing on the library’s printers. A huge thanks to the Dean & Margaret Lesher Foundation for their generous grant in funding the 3D printers and the technology makerspace.

sew-4Textile Makerspace  offers community members a place to connect while getting creative with crafts.  In addition to offering drop-in sewing, knitting and crochet workshops, special project classes are available. Sewing machines and basic textile-oriented tools are provided.
