In Conversation with Mary Ladd, Author of The Wig Diaries

The Wig Diaries is Mary Ladd’s debut disrespectful cancer book. Delivered with bold gallows humor, Mary delivers honest and hilarious anecdotes from her battle with cancer and hopes it encourages others still fighting the battle. Janine Kovac, author of Spinning: Choreography for Coming Home, will moderate the program with Mary.

Mary is the author of The Wig Diaries, a disrespectful cancer book illustrated by San Francisco Chronicle cartoonist Don Asmussen, who has cancer for the second time. Her writing has appeared in Playboy, Time Magazine, the San Francisco Chronicle and in five anthologies. She is a Writers Grotto member who collaborated with Anthony Bourdain on his Bay Area episodes of No Reservations. Mary’s latest project, Write it Down: Coronavirus Writing Prompts, to help folks navigate life during the coronavirus era, is also available in print and ebook form.

Janine Kovac is the author of SPINNING: Choreography for Coming Home, and the recipient of the Elizabeth George Foundation Fellowship from Hedgebrook. She is hard at work on a collection of essays about the Nutcracker.
