In Discussion with Grace Li: Read Contra Costa 2022

Join us for a pre-recorded discussion with Grace Li, author the novel Portrait of a Thief. This novel is a not-so-typical art heist story inspired by true events of Chinese art vanishing from Western museums; about diaspora, the colonization of art, and the complexity of the Chinese American identity. Our library public voted and chose this book as our winner for this year’s Read Contra Costa countywide book club.
Portrait of a Thief is a New York Times Bestseller, Longlisted for the Center for Fiction’s First Novel Prize, and has already been optioned by Netflix.
