Music and Storytelling Performance with Cascada de Flores
April 30 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Celebrate Children’s Day, Book Day, with a wonderful music and storytelling performance by Cascada de Flores. “El Abuelo” (also known as “The Tree and the Donkey who loved to sing”) is a bilingual and participatory story that explodes with the song, ancient musical instruments, poly-rhythms and sweet characters of Mexican music and dance. Children and their families are invited to sing like owls, dance like vultures, and laugh with “Abuelo” (grandfather) to traditional songs and dance from different regions of Mexico.
From your home, gather your family, your noise makers, and something to twirl while dancing (bandana, scarf, napkin, sock). Performers will answer questions about the instruments and story at the end. Join Cascada de Flores as they celebrate 20 years of working with and performing for youth and find out why this performance is beloved by children and their families of all ages and backgrounds.
