Walnut Creek Library- Kindergarten Countdown Activity Kits

The Library is distributing Kindergarten Countdown Activity Kits to help your family prepare your child for school. Kits are available for children ages 4-6, while supplies last. Registration for kits begins May 3 and will be ready for pick up the week of May 10. The kits have everything you need for your child to practice early literacy skills like talking, reading, singing, writing, playing, fine motor skills, and self-help. Live Zoom events in English and Spanish will help you to understand how to use the materials and provide helpful early learning tips. Register for a kit at your local library and sign up for a live Zoom session to unpack your kit on May 18 or May 25 in English or May 22 in Español.

Learn more about each early literacy skill by watching the videos, exploring the booklists, and sharing some of the suggested activities with your child. Work at your own pace, and remember, you do not have to take lots of time to implement the program ideas. It is best to incorporate these skills into things you are already doing with your child.
